Your major responsibilities will include but are not limited to :
Oversight of emergency management of patients
Assessment of acutely ill patients awaiting admission to the hospital
Additional orders for symptom management as needed
Collaboration with inpatient medical team for handoff
Rounding in the OTC throughout the day, connecting with the Disease-Based Group (DBG)Team Leads and Charge Nurses
Review treatment plans in advance of patient arrival to ensure completion of all appropriate signatures
Prescription of medications for symptom management
Additional orders as needed
Address lab values if outside of regimen parameters to determine if patient can receive treatment
Order supplements as needed based on lab values
Perform outpatient procedures or acute visits in coordination with patients primary oncology provider team
Assessment of patients as needed prior to treatment in coordination with patients primary oncology provider team
Oversight for accurate charge capture as well as documentation of care provided in the patients medical record.
Communicate care provided in the OTC with the patients primary oncology provider team.
Work requires completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. State of North Carolina licensure is also required.
