Bridgestone Americas Passenger Tire Plant Occupational Health Nurse
Aiken Regional Medical Centers is seeking a candidate for an Occupational Health Nurse to be employed within the Fortune 500 Company of Bridgestone Americas Passenger Tire Plant. This five day a week fulltime position requires a licensed professional possessing a current RN license in South Carolina.
This individual is responsible for providing on-site promotion and restoration of occupational health, injury prevention, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards. This position includes providing appropriate employee care within the scope of the state's nurse practice act.
This position also handles case management strategies for work-related injuries/ illnesses. Use of an approved employee health record keeping system and compliance with regulatory requirements to maintain confidentiality of personal health information are required.
This position aids in the coordination of medical claims adjusters, medical personnel, workers compensation, and FMLA. This position also assist coordinate and implement a wellness program that includes approved strategies for management of defined diseases and comorbidities.
Responsibilities include Health and Wellness initiatives, Case Management of Workers Compensation, coordinate health surveillance, maintenance of employee medical files in accordance with records retention and medical confidentiality, and consistent communication with plant management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver high quality clinical occupational health nursing services. This includes nursing assessment and management of occupational injuries, illnesses, and emergency medical response.
Responsible for assisting management with associate health, wellness and safety concerns within the plant site.
Work closely with associates, safety team, team leaders, supervisors and managers to identify and resolve health, wellness and safety concerns.
Administer first aid as needed.
Facilitate and assist with training for CPR, First Aid, AED and Blood Borne Pathogens.
Assist with OSHA record keeping as needed; OSHA 300 Log.
Assist with Workers Compensation record keeping and case management, as needed
Assist and correlate Annual Audiometric testing.
Conduct pre and post-employment drug testing and assessments as required.
Active participant on the Health & Safety committee.
Assist with facilitating and scheduling of wellness programs, such as Health Fairs.
Willing to assist with off-hour shifts as needed.
Manage and deliver high quality OSHA regulated health monitoring programs, such as Hearing Conservation.
Support Bridgestone employee Fit For Duty program. Assist with reasonable employee accommodations while at work.
Collaborate with plant management and safety professionals on workplace safety programs and incident investigation.
Support employees with filing Workers Compensation claims for work related illness and injury. Communicate effectively with Workers Compensation insurance carrier as required.
Assist deliver Bridgestone loss prevention services in collaboration with Bridgestone Americas health promotion initiatives, health fairs, health screenings and safety training on selected occupational safety topics.
Develop and maintain nursing procedures and quality assurance processes and documents.
Support Bridgestone Americas management team by attending departmental safety meetings and collaborating on special projects related to health and safety as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3 - 5 years Occupational Health nursing experience
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S)
Case management certification
Certified in audiometry
Certified CPR/First Aid/AED instructor
