LeadingAge Minnesota Institute Meeting Coordinator Intern/Field Experience

LeadingAge Minnesota serves as a catalyst, working alongside members, caregivers, advocates and consumers to collectively shape the future of aging services and ensure older adults in every community live with dignity, meaning and purpose. Together with 60,000 caregivers, their 1,100 members provide quality, compassionate care to 70,000 older adults every day in all the places they call home including independent senior housing, assisted living communities, in-home care, adult day services and skilled nursing facilities.
Help with meeting logistics for LeadingAge Minnesota’s largest signature event, the Institute. This event draws approximately 4,000 people over three days and is
held at the RiverCentre in St. Paul. Event dates are Feb. 5-7, 2020. Setup day is Feb. 4, 2020.
Collect and enter handout and audiovisual needs for 100+ concurrent sessions.
Process and enter registrations as they come in via email.
Prepare onsite materials including reports, moderator packets, room signs, etc.
Handle contact with members, exhibitors and sponsors regarding Institute registration and event-related questions.
Assist Vice President of Conferences & Sales, Vice President of Education and Education Coordinator with conference logistics.
Help onsite at Institute on Feb. 4-7, 2020.
Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar word processing and spreadsheet experience. Ability to type with a high degree of accuracy.
Must be well organized and efficient to maintain systems, processes and schedules for the Institute. Attention to detail is a must.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Able to analyze and be efficient in verbal and written communications. Excellent interpersonal skills are
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities when handling multiple tasks and projects, and work in a deadline-conscious setting.
Ability to work with little supervision. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
Knowledge of aging services and/or event/meeting planning helpful, but not necessary
