Clinical Dietitian - Broughton Hospital

Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Clinical Dietitian position. This position is responsible Dietitian's role is to provide individualized nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy for patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses/conditions. The primary duties of the Clinical Dietitian include nutritional assessment, consultation and documentation for an assigned caseload, Treatment Team attendance, and nutrition education/training. Additionally, the dietitian may work on performance improvement processes and other support duties throughout the department as needed or requested. This position requires routine patient contact on various psychiatric care units and treatment care areas, requiring travel to various areas throughout the Broughton Hospital campus. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently in a fast pace environment, and have strong organizational skills. This individual is a solution finder, works well with others and has excellent communications skills when speaking with patients and staff. The normal work schedule is Tuesday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. However, flexibility is required for training purposes and to meet hospital needs. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
About the Facility:
Broughton Hospital operates 297 beds and is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness. Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness. Construction is currently underway for a new facility that will include 382 beds.
Salary Grade GN09 ; Recruitment Range $36,677.00 - $62,092.00
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:
Experience assessing and providing nutrition care for patients
Experience educating patients on proper nutrition practices to improve their health
Current Registration with Commission in Dietetic Registration (CDR) with a Master's Degree
OR Current Registration with Commission in Dietetic Registration (CDR) with a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in a clinical dietary setting
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);
Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
