Job Description

Assumes responsibility for performing the full range of technical procedures performed within an assigned special modality area (Mammo, CT, MRI, NM) in addition to Radiology. Is credentialed in secondary modalities. Works under minimal supervision. Responsible for providing patient care during Imaging exams for patients ranging in age from Pediatric to Geriatric. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in patient care skills.

Education/Certification/Licensure Reqirements:
Required to be a graduate of a 2 year accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Required to be ARRT registered in radiology and registered in one additional modality(Mammo, CT, MRI, NM, etc..) Required to be licensed in the state of Mississippi as an MRT.

Language/Communication Skills:
English required. Multi lingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.

Mathematical Skills:
Skill in adding, subtracting, miltiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator. Knowledge of the metric system units (lenght, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents.

Reasoning Ability:
Must have the abiltiy to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multi-tasking skills a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do. Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgement is based.
