Works directly with radiologist to assure CT clinical and research exam protocol appropriateness to assure high quality consistently reliable CT image acquisition and advanced 3D imaging with lowest possible radiation dose to obtain medical diagnosis. Responsible for diagnostic equipment operation, function and performance. Main responsibilities are to develop, implement, monitor, communicate and educate CT exam and equipment protocols, phantom quality testing and radiation dose. Must demonstrate competency in CT physics, 3D advanced imaging, exam protocols, radiation and contrast media safety, revenue billing, day to day operations and to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. Must maintain knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. Fully participates in the call practice for CT. Rotates through weekends. Remains available, willing and flexible to work varied shifts as needed. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels within the department as well as in institution.
Five year radiologic technologist experience required. Experience and competent with CT equipment, accurate exam protocol, 3D image reconstruction and quality and safety policies and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service required. Ability to improvise standard procedures required. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, making decisions and directing work and patient flow to achieve maximum operational efficiency required. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills required.
