General Description:

Under general direction of the Hospital President and the EVP/System CFO, works in coordination with company financial leaders to plan organize and direct budgeting and financial operations for the hospital. Participates in the development, interpretations, coordination, and administration of the companys policies on finance, accounting, insurance, financial/accounting systems, internal controls and auditing and assures compliance at the hospital.

Monitors, interprets and analyzes hospital financial performance in realizing established plans and objectives of the hospital
Identifies and reports undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and makes recommendations for action
Takes a lead role in analyzing and exploring means to improve organization operations
Participates as a member of the hospitals Executive Team in the development of strategic plans, capital and operating budgets
Responsible for hospital revenue cycle process
Assures that adequate internal hospital controls are in place to safeguard hospital assets
Responsible for performance of hospitals outsources operations contracts and associated contracted leadership
Monitors, interprets and analyzes hospital operations, product lines and contractual agreements for financial performance in accordance with plans and objectives of the hospital
Identifies and reports undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and makes recommendations
Administrative oversight of all positions supervised including formal and informal direction
Implements initiatives rolled out by company for the good of the organization
Timely completion and reporting of financial results as required
Assists in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organizations mission and help executive team succession and growth plans.

General Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred

Experience: Minimum of 5 years leadership experience as a CFO in a small hospital or a Controller in a medium to large hospital; Hospital Operations background preferred; Experience with an academic medical center preferred

Certifications/Registrations: Member of ACHE preferred, CPA preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough understanding of healthcare reimbursement
Position does require working some weekends and some holidays to meet deadlines
Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all people, with the ability to gain buy-in from multiple people for the good of the organization
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge of financial systems
Skilled in using various analytical tools and techniques
Demonstrate excellence in change management skills and project leadership.
