The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Responsibilities

Req ID: 57392
Knows and upholds policies and procedures related to Medical Equipment Management Plan.
Able to locate and articulate policies as needed.
Able to identify when issues are related to codes, standards and policies (e.g., NFPA 99, The Joint Commission, MDH, CLIA, CAP, etc.).
Able to perform unassisted pm procedures, utilizing resources available (CEMS PM procedures, service manuals, equipment type experience, previous training, technical experts).
PMs are completed in accordance with Medical Equipment Management Program (100% in-program PMs and 100% life support PMs complete monthly).
Documentation is completed in CEMS consistently within procedural timeframes.
Work orders are clear and concise, easily understood by another technician, manager, customer, or surveyor.
Able to locate key components and assemblies within equipment, using schematics and/or pictorial documents.
Able to troubleshoot problems to determine likely cause of issue and correct issue.
Documentation is completed in CEMS consistently within procedural timeframes.
Understands usage and clinical application of equipment and related physiology and is able to apply to equipment maintenance.
Ability to attend multiple site meeting and follow up as needed to meet customer and project deadlines.
Ability to apply training received from technician experts or OEMs.
Must successfully complete all training post tests and evaluations.
Communicate with customer and provide technical guidance to resolve customer problems.
Act as a mentor to BMET Entry level, I or II when selected or assigned.
Consult with Allina Health committees on specific projects.
Provide alternatives and problem-solve to keep projects on track.

Education

Two year biomedical/electronics degree or equivalent training.
Successful completion of basic Anatomy/Physiology class and medical terminology within a six month grace period for each class upon initial hire or must pass clinical application and terminology competency test

Qualification/Skills

Successful completion of technical development program - BMETIII: (2 years + development plan), BMETI (2 years + development plan) and BMET Entry (2 years + development plan), or equivalent experience in biomedical electronics or related field.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Basic office computer skills required.
Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve technical problems.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to repair and perform preventive maintenance onGeneral biomedical equipment included on BMET I and BMET Entry developmental plans
Additional biomedical equipment with technical guidance and supervision

Must have valid drivers license, this will be checked on an annual basis to ensure compliance.
You be required to travel to various Allina hospitals and clinics.

Work Schedule

Standard hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Hours may change with customer needs
