Assistant Director - Gift Planning

Job Description

This position will develop and implement gift planning strategies and activities to carry forward the mission and vision of Mayo Clinic. The Assistant Director, Gift Planning will provide strategic support for development officers and other development professionals to advance planned and complex gifts. The Assistant Director, Gift Planning also will close planned gifts made by unassigned benefactors and will build and manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects. Development professionals at Mayo Clinic are required to adhere to the "Donor Bill of Rights" and ethical standards set forth for the department and the institution.


A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree in Business or Finance or a Law degree is preferred. Any of the following certifications: CFP, ChFC, CAP, CFRE or CLU, are also preferred. Requires five years' experience in gift planning or financial planning, with a demonstrated record of advising individuals on deferred gift options and/or estate plans. Work experience in non-profit healthcare is a plus.
