Job Description

The Purchasing Associate is responsible for ordering stock or non-stock ASC supplies, including processing requisitions, researching products, entering data, follow-up on back orders, selecting vendors, and maintaining up-to-date information on products.

The Purchasing associate is responsible to ensure all products and deliveries into the ASC are unloaded, accounted for, and stored in designated supply areas. The Purchasing associate is responsible to rectify any back orders and to maintain appropriate par levels of supplies.

The position provides other services as requested by Management in support of departmental objectives, including but not limited to, maintain process for bio hazardous waste.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.


EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years purchasing experience required.


Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.


Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
