Provides occupational therapy services to patients at all age levels in their places of residence in accordance with a physician's or podiatrist's written order. Provide supervision of the certified occupational therapist assistant.
Successful completion of an occupational therapy program at a school of occupational therapy.
Licensed by the state of Mississippi and registered with the NBCOT (National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy). Current license to operate a motor vehicle.
Minimum of one year experience in occupational therapy preferred.
English required. Multi-lingual capabilities enhance the abilty to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with all ages, especially the geriatric population. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to utlize appropriate communcation with individuals from diverse cultures. Ability to assess data reflecting the client's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each client's requirements relative to their age specific needs. An ability to organize data and priorities in a manner that will achieve positive patient and organizational outcomes.
Basic math with advanced abilities to correctly calculate dosages, perform mathematical conversions and understand basic statistical informaton.
Uses personal knowlege, experience and other resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems.
