JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Instruct or coach groups or individuals in exercise activities. Demonstrate techniques and form, observe participants, and explain to them corrective measures necessary to improve their skills. Coordinate administrative activities of the fitness center and assist in the development of fitness programs throughout the organization.
6 months 1 year personal training experience or Internship
SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
BS Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Science or Biomechanics (desired)
Personal training certification from an accredited organization (e.g. ACSM, NASM, etc.) or able to provide documentation that the employee is in the process of obtaining a certification.
Group fitness certification, preferable
Experience working with people on an individual and group basis
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records w/out limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, information related to patient location, religious beliefs, lab or radiology results, patient financial and/or 3rd party billing information.
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care.
