Responsibilities

Produces good quality imaging studies for physicians to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of their patientsAdapts procedures and techniques to accommodate neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Assists the nurse and the stress tech during stress testing.
Maintains an awareness of patients physical and emotional conditions, recognizes and reports adverse signs and takes authorized and/or necessary action
Verifies patient identification and imaging order
Protects patient confidentiality
Provides care appropriate to the age population served based on established criteria
Shows good communication skills with patients, families, and other hospital personnel by following our commitment to care standards
Works efficiently with others to increase department productivity
Completes tasks independently with minimal supervision
Equipment and rooms are kept clean, follows procedures for maintenance service issues
Follows hospital policies and radiation safety and infection control
Participates in Modality QA
Reviews their individual monthly QA
Performs data entry on exams, completes worksheets, consent forms and reporting documents as necessary
Files images and reports correctly
Burns C.D.s upon request & completes appropriate ROI for film release
All mandatory education is completed successfully, in a timely manner
Attendance is noted at staff meetings and mandatory hospital programs or minutes are reviewed as appropriate
Maintains current ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS (based on modality) registration and the continuing education requirements
Expands base of knowledge
Maintains current BLS certification

Education

High School Diploma. Degree from an Echo program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Qualification/Skills

Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). BLS Required.
Knowledge of computers. Ability to perform multiple tasks. Good communication skills. Work is physically demanding: standing, bending, lifting and pushing. Must have excellent human relation & organizational skills.
Ability to perform Stress Testing

Work Schedule

Minimum of 2 shifts a month, prefer one to be weekend (weekday would typically be 8:30a-5p or weekend currently is call from 9a-1p)
