As a core function within a Clinical Integration (CI) program, this role is responsible for collecting and analyzing claims, encounter and other clinical data required to measure and help improve program performance. The candidate will need to have strong medical economics analytical skills and familiarity with claims and clinical data and data systems, coding terminology, risk adjustment methodologies, inpatient and outpatient data integration, and computerized report writing tools.
The Clinical Analyst position will report to the Vice President Clinical Integration, and have routine interactions with other CI program team members. This position will also work with other decision support resources throughout the organization and related organizations such as hospitals, reference labs, pharmacy data sources, payers, etc. The Clinical Analyst maintains various hospital databases, providing data collection, input, and reporting of results. He/she produces ad hoc reports using hospital and third party data resources in support of department and hospital teams and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors minimum, Master preferred in Business, Public Health, Health Care Management or a related field. Health care experience preferred, clinical experience a plus. Strong healthcare background with at least 5 years in hospital and ambulatory settings (finance, accounting, performance improvement, utilization review, payer contracting). Knowledge of and experience with selected Electronic Health Records. Knowledge of and experience with various data aggregation, analytical and report writing tools. Experience with databases and data analysis. Experience collating/normalizing data from disparate systems. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook. Must be detail oriented.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
