This position will primarily cover the Fairmont outpatient (clinic) practice, and will provide assistance as needed in the inpatient (hospital) and infusion settings.
In collaboration with three Medical Oncologists and a care team consisting of RNs, LPNs, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, and other ancillary support staff, the Medical Oncology NP/PA provides clinical care to cancer patients at various stages of treatment and recovery.
The SWMN Division of Medical Oncology practice provides cancer services in Mankato, Fairmont, and New Prague locations. The Fairmont Medical Oncology NP/PA could provide support coverage in Mankato.
Services provided: The SWMN Division of Medical Oncology practice is a physician-led team of board certified hematology and oncology physicians working in collaboration with specialties including Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology. This multi-disciplinary team of cancer care professionals is focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer. Weekly tumor boards, a collaborative breast clinic, and clinical research trials are part of the practice.
Nurse practitioner- Masters degree in nursing required, Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred.
Physician Assistant requires completion of a baccalaureate degree and an accredited physician assistant education program, Masters degree preferred.
Certification by a national nurse certification organization acceptable to the MN Board of Nursing required. Physician Assistant (PA) certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges
