Job Description


Assure that all appropriate pre-authorizations have been completed before administering testing and/or other related services. To administer and score psychological test batteries (determined by the supervising professional) evaluating cognitive, academic, neuropsychological, behavioral, and emotional status in order to assist Neuropsychologists, Psychologists, Neurologists, and other medical professionals in differential neuropsychiatric diagnosis and related treatment decisions. To provide technical psychometric and database support, including as appropriate for clinical research projects.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field of study will be considered

Preferred:

Master's degree in Psychology preferred or related field

Existing psychometrist training and experience, including pediatrics, adults and geriatrics.

One year of experience in psychological testing and training preferred

KNOWLEDGE OF, SKILLS IN, ABILITY TO, COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULY:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Personal Computers, hardware and basic software programs including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred, particularly neuropsychology.

Knowledge/Understanding of the components to various insurance cards preferred

SKILLS IN:

Understanding the components of the medical record

Clear and precise written and verbal communication

Attention to detail and accuracy

Multi-tasking while maintaining a positive attitude

Excellent Time Management Skills

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures including managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology, whether in paper or electronic format

Proficiency in MS Windows.

Operating fax, copier, multiphone lines and other office equipment

Medical terminology preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
65% Time Spent - Administer and score neuropsychological and psychological tests as defined in competencies for a Psychometrist II.
15% Time Spent - Provide Neuropsychologist or Psychologist with description of patient's behavior during testing and observed incidentally.
10% Time Spent - Assist with research and other projects, including maintenance of clinical database.
5% Time Spent - Assist with scheduling and pre-authorization of all services
1% Time Spent - Attend training conferences offered or supported by the employing organization.
1% Time Spent - Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency.
1% Time Spent - Review and ensure timeliness, accuracy, and availability and security of information.
1% Time Spent - Comply with institutional Quality Assurance and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
1% Time Spent - Perform other duties as assigned.
