Job Description

The Hospital Systems/SSO Unit is looking for a skilled individual to provide development and support for Mayo Clinic Medical Transport/Gold Cross. Currently the team supports several web-based applications such as quality review, reporting, fleet maintenance, scheduling and transport tracking. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with the support of RescueNet (vended solution for ambulance and helicopter dispatch, billing, and field patient care documentation), development of and enhancements to in-house developed applications, participating in all phases of the software development life cycle with an equal emphasis on both software development and project management, and participation in on-call rotation to provide 24x7 coverage for Mayo Clinic Medical Transport. The technologies used by the team include Microsoft .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC/WebAPI/WebForms, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, AngularJS, Angular, SignalR, Redis, Webpack, JavaScript, C#, VB.NET, and Microsoft SQL Server. This person is expected to develop and maintain professional relationships with Mayo Clinic Medical Transport/Gold Cross Staff for the purpose of planning, implementing, evaluating and supporting IT solutions.

Provides IT support for vended and custom applications, including resolving highly complex issues, and assists with data security, redundancy, and support in collaboration with more senior technical staff.

Conducts root-cause analysis by researching hardware environment and software application and system problems, works with colleagues and customers to resolve issues, documents resolution, and communicates resolution with customer. Regularly reviews applications and makes modifications and/or updates of a single system application or basic software and their associated hardware at multiple Mayo Clinic sites to ensure currency and functionality within the established environment. Contributes to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software, and/or the installation and maintenance of purchased systems software, as well as the configuration and support of hardware systems across Mayo Clinic.

Produces and maintains documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested. Interfaces routinely with colleagues who may be located at any of the Mayo Group practices to perform job responsibilities requiring virtual collaboration and partnership. Will be required to provide 24/7 on-call support.


Bachelors degree and training/experience in technical development;

OR, Associates degree and 5 years professional experience in technical development. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.
