Fargo, ND (32nd Avenue Campus)

Join our fast-changing and ever-advancing Interventional Neurology department! As a JCAHO Primary Stroke Center with endovascular capabilities, our team continues to advance stroke care and build upon our established practice. This position offers a good variety and a strong learning environment to further enhance ones skill set within this specialty. Our highly-motivated, dedicated team consists of 2 Physicians, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 LPN and the Stroke Program Manager, Educator and Assistant.

Work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8-5
Based at 32nd Avenue Campus in Fargo, ND; no outreach
Outpatient (60%) and Inpatient (40%) coverage
Ability to partner with exceptional physician mentor leads in our Interventional Neurology Department
Clinic patients include stroke, TIA, carotid stenosis, aneurysms, and complex neurological disorders.
Volumes: Inpatient 2-4 consults per day; daily rounding with back-up support to on-call interventional Neurologist on weekdays. Outpatient 6-8 patients per day
Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team player.
Prefer candidates with background/experience in Neurology or Stroke.
Once team is fully established, first call will be taken by this practitioner Monday-Friday 8a-5p!

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Masters or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelors or Masters degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
Prefer candidates with background/experience in Neurology or Stroke.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
Current certification in CPR
National certification, in applicable area.
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
