Certified Nursing Assistant & Health Unit Coordinator - Behavioral Health - 1.0 FTE (PMs/Days)

The inpatient behavioral health unit has a team of staff including Registered Nurses, Unit Clerks/CNAs, Therapists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, Art Therapist and Psychiatrists. This department has 11 private rooms and provides care to voluntary and involuntary patients, ages 18 and older.
Hours: Primarily PM shift 1500-2330, with day shift as needed. Every other weekend and every other holiday.

The Certified Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator works in a dual role.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Perform applicable charge entry on patient accounts, ensuring charges entered are accurate.
Perform customer service, answering phones, ordering of unit office and food supplies, and answering unit door.
Communicate changes in patient situations/conditions that would require notification to the RN.
Assists with patient activities as delegated by the RN including activities of daily living (i.e. dressing, ambulating, toileting, eating, grooming, oral care and bathing.)
Minimum interaction with the patient must include conversation about their need for toileting, positioning, pain control, and possessions.
Under the direction of the RN offers non-pharmacological pain intervention to assist with patient comfort.
Obtains pertinent data pertaining to the patient as delegated (i.e. blood pressure, pulse, pulse ox, temperature, input and output), accurately documents care provided and notifies RN of outcomes in a timely manner.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Active or expired Nursing Assistant Certification on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry.
Prior C.N.A. experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS CPR) required. If do not have/not current must obtain upon hire.
