This PA/NP will work as part of the Allina Health Surgical Specialists practice on the surgical oncology team. Work includes rounding, hospital consults, assisting with surgical cases, post ops, and in-clinic procedures.
The PA/NP will provide advanced clinical consultation and education to patients and health care team members:
Obtain medical history from patients
Perform evaluation, delineated problems, record and present data
Assist in provision of continuity of care
Assist physician in conducting rounds in acute care setting
Record progress notes
Interpret and evaluate patient data
Order and/or perform diagnostic procedures
Perform routine procedures
Develop and implement patient management plans (or refer to pain teams)
Instruct and counsel patients regarding the following:
Prescribed therapeutic regimes
Facilitate the referral of patient to other health care providers and specialists when appropriate
Instruct and counsel patients regarding emotional problems and prescribed therapeutic regimes
Graduation form an Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program
2 years or applicable experience
New graduate accepted
Demonstrated clinical expertise with patients with complex medical issues
Skills normal expected to treat and diagnose and treat patients
Maintain surgical site sterile environment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to coordinate patient care in multiple settings
Ability to work independently
Flexibility in job responsibilities
Strong collaborative background
Monday-Friday, flexible hours.
