Job Description

Responsible to and receives work direction from Cardiac Lab management, lab supervisors, lead technologists, and physician staff. Works cooperatively with all cardiac lab personnel, i.e., physicians, nurses, technologists, x-ray technologists, anesthesia, recovery room personnel, patient transportation, secretaries, purchasing personnel, and commercial vendors. Responsible and expected to perform one or more functions within the cardiac laboratory. These responsibilities may include preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedure, assisting physicians in procedure by circulating and scrubbing procedures, function in LPT/X-ray technologist role, acquire/measure/calculate hemodynamic date, perform blood work analysis, operate three dimensional mapping systems, operate intra-cardiac ultrasound, clean procedure rooms, restock, and prepare instruments for resterilization. May be asked to assist with clinical research by management or physicians. Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times, and lengths.


A graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing). Requires one year of patient care experience with a Bachelor's degree or higher, and three years of patient care experience for those with a diploma or associate.
