Acts as the primary clinical assistant for the physicians and is responsible for ensuring appropriate clinical support is provided including reviewing documentation and findings with the physicians, answering patient questions and assisting in Excellian documentation. In addition this position is expected to provide periodic sideline coverage and team support.
Master's degree in Athletic Training preferred; BS or BA in Athletic Training required, eligible for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
Clinical duties require an ability to work with patients of all strata, proactively anticipate the needs of physicians, and accurately document the physician's findings, recommendations and treatment plan in the electronic medical record. Strong pc skills required..
At times will be asked to help out with event coverage in the local area. Must be able to effectively diagnose and provide initial sideline treatment for injured athletes. Effective communication with doctors, coaches, parents and athletes is essential
Athletic Trainers, work as part of care team assisting to provide and coordinate care for the patients across the continuum in collaboration with Allina Health orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians and other clinical team members. Primary responsibility will be to provide clinic assistance in a high volume orthopaedic physicians practice. May also be asked to help support sports medicine, podiatry or physical medicine rehabilitation providers periodically as well. Sites to include both the Faribault and Northfield locations. Will provide outreach athletic training medical services on evenings and weekends periodically to the community.
