The Staff Development Department provides Hospital staff with in-service training which enables them to effectively fulfill job requirements, meet federal and state regulatory agency standards, meet the needs as identified by continous performance improvement findings, as well as to provide professional and personal growth opportunities. We are recruiting for a Staff Development Specialist I to perform the following duties:
Assist in developing training modules and materials
Maintain training records
NOTE: All employees must receive an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption prior to start date.
Salary Grade: GN09
Recruitment Range: $36,677 - $56,271

R.J. Blackley ADATC (RJB) is located in Butner, NC and is one of three inpatient centers for treatment of co-occurring substance use disorders in conjunction with other mental and medical illnesses. RJB is accredited by the Joint Commission and Certified by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
Our location is ideal with four seasons, mild temperatures, and provides an easy commute to the N.C. mountains or beaches. Butner possesses small town charm but is within 30 minutes of a major metropolitan area including Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham, NC.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Experience teaching adult learners, preferably in a healthcare setting
Experience creating training materials and/or educational materials
Experience with Microsoft Office Excel
Experience with Microsoft Office Powerpoint
Ability to obtain/maintain instructor certification for NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) and CPR (American Heart Association Basic Life Support/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Management prefers experience with Learning Management System (LMS)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a human service; counseling; or training program in the subject matter specified; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
