Provide athletic training medical services to the community and organizations such as high schools, colleges and amateur club teams. Must be able to work independently and with autonomy.
Coverage of athletic events; evaluation, assessment and rehabilitation of the athletes injuries
Communication of return to play decisions to coaches, parents, and athletic directors.
Appropriately triage athletes injuries and conditions Coordinate appropriate appointment or forward to provider for review/recommendation.
Provide standard community health information.
Document all encounters and patient interactions accurately and completely.
Master's degree in Athletic Training preferred; BS or BA in Athletic Training required, eligible for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
Must be able to effectively diagnose and provide initial sideline treatment for injured athletes. Effective communication, written and verbal, with physicians, coaches, parents, athletes/patients is essential.
The athletic trainer is responsible for working in conjunction with the administration, coaching staff, and parents (if applicable) to assure a safe and a well-supervised experience for all athletes.
Comply with all regulatory and safety requirements as established by the organization, state and national governing bodies.
Follow and, if necessary create, Emergency Action Plans for all venues.

Athletic Trainers will provide outreach athletic training medical services on evenings, weekends and weekdays periodically to the community. Be willing to travel to various outreach settings throughout the entire 7 county metro area.
Events may vary during the year. Would expect athletic trainer to provide outreach coverage on average 1-2 events per month or 12-24 events per year.
Compensation will be based on an hourly rate.
