Job Description


Delivers Home Oxygen and Respiratory Care equipment. Provides timely delivery of HME and Oxygen cylinders. Troubleshoot and performs equipment repair, checks to assure equipment is clean and functioning before delivery. Observes and communicates pertinent patient information to the Home Oxygen Therapist or immediate supervisor. Maintains HME vehicle in a clean and orderly condition. Maintains CPR certification. Checks and maintains Home Oxygen inventory. Completes all required paperwork fully and in a timely manner. Demonstrates commitment to customer service by: Building effective working relationships and treating others with respect Interacting with customers (Patients, co-workers and visitors) in a warm and friendly way. Taking immediate action to meet customer needs or requests. Listening to understand what customers have to say. Works with patients physician to assure appropriateness of oxygen equipment. Performs in-home assessment of environment for safety issues as required by Joint Commission (i.e., electrical requirements, fire safety, trip and fall hazards). Maintains infection control procedures. Educates patients on oxygen usage, equipment operation, and potential hazards. Responds to work e-mails in a timely manner.

IF TEAM LEAD: Performs all duties of Home Oxygen Delivery Technician. Oversees the operation of the Transfill station. Works with the Home Oxygen Supervisor to assure competency and compliance with all applicable regulations in the Transfill area. Oversees the repair and maintenance of Home O2 equipment. Shares equally in on-call time Delivers Home Oxygen and Respiratory Care equipment. Provides timely delivery of HME and Oxygen cylinders. REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:

High School Diploma

If Team Lead:
Training in Oxygen concentrator repair.
Training and certification in Transfill operation.

Preferred:

LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

Required:

Current Montana Drivers License
Current Heartsaver through American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
Current Montana Commercial Drivers License within 180 days of hire.

Preferred:

CDL

KNOWLEDGE OF, SKILLS IN, ABILITY TO, COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULY:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Personal Computers, hardware and basic software programs including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

If Team Lead:
Timms software as it applies to maintenance and inventory duties.
Transfill regulations and maintenance requirements
HIPPA and confidentiality requirements of the position and the organization
BDH corporate compliance program

SKILLS IN:

Good driving skills

If Team Lead:
Personal Customer Service Techniques
Repair of current BDHO oxygen concentrators
Customer service and complaint resolution.

ABILITY TO:

Refer to policy manual for specific instructions/guidelines. Follow established policies and Procedures

15% Time Spent - Trained and operates Oxygen Transfill Station

20% Time Spent - Responsible for the repair and maintenance of Home o2 equipment.

20% Time Spent - Oversees the operation of the Transfill operation.

20% Time Spent - Oversees the tracking of inventory in the TIMS system.

20% Time Spent - Delivers products and equipment used in home respiratory care

20% Time Spent - Operates and maintains equipment pertinent to home respiratory care
