Demonstrates accurate use of 10 key pad calculator
Follows correct procedures for calculating tube feed formulas and accurately assembles for delivery
Taking meal orders for patients on with assistance and for specific units
Help patients navigate meal choices with prescribed nutrition restrictions
Places Nourishment orders in Medical chart
Collects Calorie Count information ordered for patients, assess nutrients consumed, and charts results in Patient Medical Chart
Answers phones in diet office and trouble shoots issues with nursing and or providers
During meal service, check meal trays for accuracy of diet ordered
Calculates daily patient eating census for kitchen
Checks on product availability and helps monitor item usages in Health Touch
Helps to monitor Diet Changes and assist in verification prior to meal tray delivery
Works on all Mental Health Stations taking meal orders from patients
Assists in Process and procedure improvement projects
Provides Nutrition explanation of foods allowed on patients prescribed diet order
Monitors Tube Feed Formulary
Daily work tasks on computer


Able to read and write English at minimum 12th grade level
Past experience in similar role 1-2 years will be considered


One to Two years work in foor service industry and/or Education courses in nutrition or related business with direct patient/customer contact, charting in medical charting, navigating food choices for modified diets, identifying modified food textures, calculating tube feed orders for correct product distribution, calculating nutritionals from food records, ordering meals in Health Touch or related meal ordering system, diverse computer work with various programs, working with medical providers, teaching or training in nutrition topics/modified diets, and work in a team environment.

Ability to apply strong English verbal and written information to daily job activities
Read and Follow directions
Read a thermometer
Ability to communicate in a one on one situation with patients, nurses, physicians, management and peers
Ability to anticipate and respond to patient needs in a pro-active manner
Pass competency test on modified diets at minimum of 80%
Train and pass Excellian training at minimum of 85%
Train and Pass Health Touch Training at minimum 85%
Read a menu correctly and help patients navigate food choice to their specified diet order
Assist Dietitians in calorie count and extended menu deliveries
Identify products and allergens in recipes
Strong Computer Skills in various programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
Calculate amount of tube feed formula needed based on timing and rate of formula ordered (strong math skills)
Work independently with little direction required
Detailed oriented- strong skills in reading orders accurately
Work as a team player
Strong communication skills desired along with positive attitude
Ability to foresee potential errors or issues and assist in problem solving
Able to accurately check meal tray accuracy in a fast environment

Week One: Saturday & Sunday - OFF Monday: 7am to 3:30pm
Tuesday: OFF
Wednesday: 8am to 4:30pm
Thursday: 6am to 2:30pm
Friday: OFF

Week Two: Saturday & Sunday: 7am to 3:30pm Monday: 6am to 2:30pm
Tuesday & Wednesday: - OFF
Thursday: 7am to 3:30pm
Friday: 11am to 7:30pm

There is opportunity to pick up other shifts.
