Job Description

The Manager of Laboratory Operations works with other members of the laboratory staff and other St. Lukes departments as part of a multidisciplinary team. Identifies and coordinates resources required to coordinate laboratory services throughout the St. Lukes system and ensure the quality of laboratory services.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years experience in a Clinical Laboratory.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:ASCP certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
Education: Master's degree in related field.
Experience: Supervisory experience.

Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals with different training and educational backgrounds; to exercise good judgment; to maintain excellent laboratory standards while considering practical requirements in a particular situation; to effectively represent St. Luke's Laboratory Services in a variety of settings and to a wide variety of decision makers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced: Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
