Lead Sleep Lab Tech

Responsible for the direction and coordination of the Sleep Diagnostics Laboratory alongside Cloud Peak Sleep Specialists, LLC. Duties include staffing support and training, policy and procedure development, quality assurance, performance improvement, maintenance of accreditation, and others as assigned. Expectations include; occasional to frequent long work days, and irregular hours (M-Sa, nights and some days).
Directly oversees the development and training of all Sleep Lab Technologists
Assists Outpatient Services Manager with annual performance appraisals and ensures regular and timely feedback, coaching, and communication with employees.
Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity, self-motivated. Completes projects by due date.
Coordination and maintenance of accreditation with Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
Responsible for maintaining and updating all files, keeping sleep log up to date.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Develop and implement a variety of standard protocols for sleep diagnostic testing.
Perform routine maintenance/calibration of sleep diagnostics laboratory equipment.
Maintains / demonstrates ongoing knowledge on current trends and techniques in the field of sleep diagnostics.
Appropriately handles data transfer and interpretation / documents to physicians office and/or medical records.
Ensures Sleep Study scoring accuracy current AASM, and Interpreting Physician Standards as an ongoing quality assurance project.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
Annually provides a written report of quality assurance monitoring to the Outpatient Services Manager.
Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, fellow staff, Outpatient Services Manager, Medical Director and other departments as appropriate.
Keeps the Outpatient Services Manager, and Medical Director informed regarding circumstances or situations, which have or may have serious impact.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible and organized, and function under stressful situations.
Consults other departments, when appropriate, to discuss patient care and performance improvement activities.
Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
Ensures that Sleep Diagnostics Laboratory documentation meets current standards and policies.
BLS Certification, required.
ACLS Certification, preferred.
Five or more years of previous experience in all aspects of Sleep Diagnostics testing.
Supervisor experience, preferred.
