Responsibilities

Req ID: 50343
Responsible for calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and installing clinical equipment maintained by Allina CES within Allina Health facilities under the mentorship of another technician
All equipment maintenance is completed in accordance with hazards, safety and infection control, electrical safety, codes, standards, regulations and regulatory standard agencies
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment included on BMET Entry and BMET I Checklists
Performs repairs, installations and calibrations on equipment included on BMET Entry and BMET I Checklists
Demonstrates knowledge of and understands clinical application of equipment included on BMET Entry and BMET I Checklists
Able to apply training received from mentor, technical experts or OEMs so that the spectrum of equipment serviced is broadened and service is completed in an effective and efficient manner
Technicians must successfully complete all training post-tests and evaluations
Communicate with customers and provide technical guidance to resolve customer problems

Education

Two year biomedical/electronics degree or equivalent training
Successful completion of basic Anatomy/Physiology class and medical terminology within a six month grace period for each class upon initial hire or must pass clinical application and terminology competency test

Qualification/Skills

Experience
Successful completion of technical development program - BMET Entry (2 years + development plan) or equivalent experience in biomedical electronics or related field

Skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Basic office computer skills required
Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve technical probems
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to repair and perform preventive maintenance on general biomedical equipment included on BMET Entry developmental

Licensure/Certification
Must have current, valid drivers license and insurability

Work Schedule

Standard hours of 7:00am to 3:30pm. Hours may change with customer needs.
