Regina Hospital, located in Hastings, Minn., provides health care services including primary care, internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, emergency medicine, inpatient geriatric mental health, urology and occupational medicine. The Hastings campus also includes senior living facilities, two Allina Health clinics and a surgery center.

Responsibilities

Accurately assess injuries, and provide timely professional care and rehabilitation
Communicate effectively with athletes and parents
Educate the parents, athletes regarding appropriate health related area
Provide recommendations and actions for safe practice and game conditions
Implement and manage athletic training coverage schedule for appropriate contests and training room coverage
Monthly log and reports on services provided
Identify and work with rehab manager for potential marketing opportunities
Coordination of student program
Coordinate schedule and coverage with Activities Director
Provide treatment that will accomplish established goals for functional outcomes
Assist with rehab as delegated by appropriate personnel
Daily records kept on all athletes/patients being seen
Assist with maintaining timely communication and physician referrals
Provide rehab manager with monthly injury log and treatment reports
Utilizes established charge system accurately
Maintains and orders necessary supplies as needed according to established needs
Leads and participates in the education of high school students interested in athletic training

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor degree from National Athletic Trains Association board of certification approved program required

Qualification/Skills

Experience
Having athletic training experience with injury assessment, evaluations, preventive medicine, rehabilitation, nutrition, and strength and conditioning aspects

Skills
Having skills in administration, communications and record keeping, education etc.
Will need to provide transportation to various events, which may include a valid drivers license

Licensure/Certifications
Current licensure with the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and licensing required
Certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association board of certification required
First Aid and CPR certification required

Work Schedule

Casual position. Will be responsible for covering Hastings High School Athletic Events.

The city's charming downtown is an interesting collection of restaurants, shops, and third-generation stores. Within the city limits are 8 city parks, 14 neighborhood parks, and boat access ramps. Two ski slopes and six golf courses are nearby. The neighborhoods feature a blend of large, quaint, older homes complemented by newer housing that lends a suburban influence.
