Responsibilities

Conduct and assist clients with aquatic and fitness exercise programs.
Conduct group aquatic exercise/therapy programs as outlined by governing disciplines (Arthritis Foundation, M.S. Society, Aquatic Exercise Association and American Red Cross) according to internal design protocol so that clients benefit and achieve fitness and recreational goals.
b. Provide lifeguarding as needed during hours of operation
c. Provide 1:1 instruction and hands-on assistance to clients according to their treatment plans to facilitate clients maximum functional level and achievement of their goals
d. Review and revise clients exercise programs as needed
e. Manage and supervise members during independent/open fitness time providing necessary assistance, making sure participants use proper exercise technique, enforcing rules as set forth by Wellness and Fitness.
f. Perform safe client transfers to/from equipment as needed.
Perform aquatics and fitness assessments and design exercise programs:
Complete necessary documentation and administrative tasks
Respond to emergency situations so that Emergency Action Plan is effectively carried out. Attend required Emergency Action Plan in-services so that individuals are adequately trained to respond to emergency situations. Maintain a safe environment for all clients

Education

4 year degree in PTA, Health and Exercise Science, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or related field

Qualification/Skills

Required: American Red Cross CPR/AED, First Aid, Lifeguarding
Preferred: ACSM Fitness Specialist Certification, American Red Cross Water Safety Iinstructor, Arthritis Foundation Certification

Monday 2:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Thursday 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
