Polysomnographic Technologist - Sleep Disorders Lab

Works under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care and Neurodiagnostics and Coordinator Neurodiagnostics/ Sleep Disorders/EMU. As directed by a physician, provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.
1. Education and Experience: Successful completion of an accredited PSG educational program leading to an associates degree with an emphasis in polysomnography
Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.
Licensure / Certifications: Must hold either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential. Must have and maintain current BLS certification.
Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years of polysomnography experience and (1) year sleep staging (scoring) experience. Experience with pediatric patients strongly preferred.
