Implements and administers a therapeutic play program for patients in assigned area(s) to minimize stress and anxiety so that optimal growth and development continues. Promotes the philosophy of family-centered care and meets the psychosocial needs of children and families during their hospital experience.
This position will work in collaboration with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) interdisciplinary team to create and implement innovative child life interventions in NICU, including but not limited to: utilizing stress reduction techniques to facilitate adaptive coping during procedures, sibling support groups, caregiver groups and bereavement interventions.
This position will require a minimum of one year previous NICU experience as a child life specialist.
