Clinical Dietitian - Murdoch Center

The Clinical Dietitian's role is to provide highly specialized/individualized nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy to the men, women, and children living at Murdoch Developmental Center with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses/conditions, including but not limited to dysphagia, swallowing, and feeding difficulties/behaviors, developmental disorders/autism, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic disorders, inborn errors of metabolism, and food allergies/intolerances. The primary duties of the Clinical Dietitian include nutritional assessment and documentation for an assigned caseload, meeting attendance, nutrition education/training, and other duties as needed or requested. Scheduled Work Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week and one (1) Saturday per year is required.
Salary Grade: GN09 Recruitment Range: $36,677 - $62,092

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Knowledgeable of medical nutrition therapy, current practices, and trends.
Knowledgeable of the components of nutritional assessment (anthropometric, c biochemical, clinical, dietary) with the ability to translate into a realistic plan of care.
Knowledgeable of safe food handling and sanitation principles.
Knowledgeable of medical terminology.
Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage assigned caseload.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
Management Prefers candidates with the following:
Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
