A member of the department leadership team. Works in partnership with the Director of Chaplain Services to further department strategic plan. Conducts programs of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) for the Level I and Level II in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. Supervises summer unit of Level 1 and Level II CPE of seminarians, supervises quarters of residency year, and potentially offered extended CPE. Collaborates with Department Director, CPE Program Director, and staff preceptors in matters affecting CPE intern and resident educational issues. Maintains an integral relationship with ACPE as an association. Ministers to the spiritual needs of patients, families, and Mayo Clinic - Rochester employees. Participates in a team ministry with other members of the department for unit and on-call coverage. Assists in sacramental ministry as appropriate; provides referral to ordained chaplains for sacramental ministry as needed. Works cooperatively with other members of the Chaplain Services Department in planning and providing a total program of pastoral care. Serves on committees within Department, and other hospital committees, task forces, or enterprise committees as appropriate. Provides direction, support, and participates in educational program development and training for the department. Assists in orienting new personnel to Chaplain Services. Prepares and maintains records for assigned areas. Documents patient care activities in the medical record. Records patient care activity in the the Electronic Medical Record. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director and CPE Program Director.
Advanced theological degree from an accredited seminary (or its equivalent in the endorsing body) and responsible pastoral and general hospital experience. Show supervisory experience for a multilevel CPE program.
