The Dosimetrist is the member of the Radiation Oncology Team primarily responsible for designing a treatment plan and accurately calculating the delivery of radiation treatment based on the Radiation Oncologist prescribed course of radiation therapy and according to established practices and standards.
Schedule: 20 hours per week - Wednesday and Thrusday, 8am-3:30pm. Friday, 8am-3pm.
May consider 32 hours per week - Monday, 8am-12n. Tuesday - Friday, 8am-3:30pm.
Current certification as a Medical Dosimetrist from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) with 5+ years
Proficient with 3D conformal, field in field, IMRT, SBRT and VMAT planning.
Experience with Eclipse, Aria and MIM software preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information with patients, family members, the
radiation oncology treatment team as well as outside entities. Able to work independently, but in collaboration with the
Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist and department Director.
High level of critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Knowledgeable of radiation safety principles and practices, as well as, current Joint Commission and ACR rules and regulations.
