Attends appropriate training programs, unit meetings and other mandatory meetings.
Maintains BCLS certification.
Seeks to be involved in unit improvements, quality projects, and other enhancements to patient care.
Demonstrates flexibility in meeting staffing needs of the unit and hospital.
Completes annual mandatory education.Communication:
Communicates utilizing the ICARE Standards in all aspects of care and interaction with others.Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers. Verbal communication is clear and concise, and written communication is legible and done using approved abbreviations.
Orders needed office supplies, or other supplies as needed for the areas.
Organizes nurses station to keep neat and well organized.
Assists with data collection.
Displays excellent receptionist skills in greeting all customers including both internal and external.
Answers phone and call light with proper phone etiquette, and sensitivity to the needs of the caller.
Assists physicians as needed.
Contacts staff immediately for patient care needs or assists with patient needs.
Assists with access, transport and storage of medications, but does not administer medications.
