The Alfond Center for Cancer Care of Maine General Medical Center in Augusta Maine is seeking a clinical Medical Physicist (I) to join our Radiation Oncology team. You will be joining 2 ABR certified physicist, 3 AAMD certified dosimetrists, and a Clinical Engineer providing QA, technical and clinical support for a range of advanced procedures including, VMAT, IMRT, SRS, SBRT and HDR.
The Alfond Center for Cancer Care treats approximately 650 patients per year utilizing an array of the latest Varian equipment including: 2 newly purchased Varian TrueBeam accelerators with Advanced OBI, OSMS, Cone based SRS, MLC, and 6D couch. We employ Eclipse treatment planning with Rapid ARC, AAA and Acuros algorithms. ARIA is fully utilized and integrates department workflow. Velocity is employed for contouring, fusion and data sharing. A GE RT CT and separate PET CT simulator is used.
Candidates for this position must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in medical physics, at least two years of clinical experience in radiation therapy physics and have successfully passed Part 1 of the ABR. Maine General offers a guaranteed growth path once ABR certification has been achieved.
The preferred candidate will have recent experience with Varian equipment and be currently listed as an Authorized Medical Physicist for HDR procedures on a materials license.
