Contributes to the overall operation of the laboratory by collecting and processing human samples from patients of all age groups, including geriatric patients, adults, adolescents, pediatrics, and infants. Handles telephone inquiries, performs computer functions, and delivers laboratory samples to support the delivery of high quality laboratory services.
High school graduation or equivalent. Completion of structured phlebotomy training program preferred. Minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred with on-the-job training in phlebotomy or formal training as a phlebotomy technician including a minimum of 100 hours of clinical training with the completion of 100 unaided venipunctures. PBT (ASCP or ASPT) or equivalent obtained within two years of employment. Current AHA Heartsaver CPR. Must have a valid drivers license with good driving record.
