The mission of the Arlington Pediatric Center (APC) is to provide a medical home for infants, children and adolescents up to age 18 years residing in Arlington households with incomes at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. APC is committed to providing excellent comprehensive care that is accessible, continuous, family centered, coordinated, and compassionate. Care is delivered or directed by pediatricians who seek to develop ongoing relationships of mutual responsibility and trust with patients and families.

Purpose and Scope:
Responsible for general office and secretarial duties related to the operation of a medical office primarily serving children of low-income families.
The AA is guided by APC personnel policies and procedures. The incumbent's actions are controlled to a great degree by the needs of the patients, families, co-workers, providers and nurse practitioners. Follows dress code. Must attend staff meetings and participate in Quality Improvement meetings as required by the Clinic Director. The AA is an enthusiastic representative of APC.
Must possess a pleasant temperament and establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families and co-workers. Must be a positive, problem solving team contributor. Must be familiar with basic terminology frequently used in a medical office setting. Ability to accept and benefit from constructive supervisory suggestions.
I. Position Requirements:
A. Education: High school Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2 Years of college or business school with focus on medical office procedures preferred.
B. Experience: Two years of medical office or hospital experience as receptionist or secretary preferred.
