Anderson Regional Medical Center

Anderson Regional Medical Center

Anderson Regional Medical Center is the most comprehensive health system in East Mississippi and West Alabama and is the established leader in medical services in the area. The system includes two hospitals, a cancer ceter, and a network of both primary and specialty clinics.

Anderson Regional Health System delivers quality health care using proven therapies to treat our patients. In doing so, we adhere to a set of widely accepted clinical indicators. These evidence-based measures were developed by The Joint Commission (TJC), in conjunction with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) utilizing a value-based, disease centered approach.

Anderson rigorously measures patient safety and other clinical indicators to ensure we are exceeding current standards and setting new benchmarks for quality. We want all our patients and their families to feel confident choosing Anderson as their healthcare provider of choice. It is our goal to provide timely, accurate, safe and effective, patient-centered care. We strive to create a high-reliability culture that fosters and supports patient safety as a core value. We are committed to delivering the best possible clinical care to our patients. We benchmark and measure our performance against other hospitals across the country. Anderson leaders evaluate quality and patient safety based on process and outcomes data in order to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Anderson Regional Medical Center has been ranked as one of the top hospitals in the nation in two important areas and is being recognized for its achievements by HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization.

The hospital ranked in the top 5 percent of U.S. hospitals for patient safety and in the top 10 percent of U.S. hospitals in patient experience.

Of the almost 5,000 hospitals surveyed, Anderson Regional Medical Center is among only 30 institutions nationwide to receive awards in both of these categories, at 5 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

In a study released by HealthGrades, Anderson Regional Medical Center was one of only 238 hospitals in the nation to receive the HealthGrades 2010 Patient Safety Excellence Award.

The award is given based on the incidence rates of 15 patient safety indicators among Medicare patients at virtually all of the nation’s nearly 5,000 non-federal hospitals.

The HealthGrades 2010-2011 Outstanding Patient Experience Award was given on the basis of surveys of patients shortly after discharge to ascertain their experience on a range of issues, from communication with doctors and nurses to cleanliness and pain management.

Anderson Regional Medical Center was the only recipient of both the Patient Safety Excellence and Outstanding Patient Experience awards in Meridian.
