South Sunflower County Hospital, a newly renovated Hospital, is a 48-bed general acute care, public hospital, with three Rural Family Practice clinics and a Surgical Clinic, serving a rural population in the Mississippi Delta and staffing 200 employees. It was established to provide primary care to a diverse population.
There are 7 Family Practitioners on staff, all of whom deliver babies at the hospital. There is one General surgeon, one Radiologist, a group of Consulting Pathologists (whose main practice is 30 miles away), and anesthesia services are provided by two Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
The present modernized facility provides 48 beds and is a well-equipped, full-service hospital. All patient rooms are single occupancy, fulfilling the hospital’s constant goal of providing excellent care and modern facilities for all its patients.
