Wheatland Memorial Healthcare

Harlowton, Montana is nestled between the snow-capped peaks and forests of four mountain ranges and is located near the geographic center of Montana on US Highway 12 and US Highway 191. This central location places "Harlo" within 2 hours travel time of four major Montana cities. Harlowton offers a variety of recreational activities from hunting and fishing to golfing at the local nine-hole course, museums and a theatre.

There are two schools in town.  Hillcrest Elementary is K-6th grade with an average class size of 13 students.  The Jr. Sr. High School houses grades 7-12 with an average class size of 18 students.   

Wheatland Memorial Healthcare is a critical access hospital licensed for 25 acute beds/swing beds. Other departments include Nursing, Activities, Social Services, Clinical Laboratory, Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging, Physical Therapy, Telemedicine, 24-hour Emergency Room, Central Supply, as well as the usual support services.  The Bair Memorial Clinic was added to the west end of the facility and opened in 1983.  The Clinic is open Monday through Friday and offers high quality medical care in a small town, family practice setting.  Wheatland Memorial employs around 80 people and contributes about $3.5 million annually to the local economy through salaries, benefits and local purchases.
