Sarah Bush Lincoln is a 128-bed, not-for-profit, regional hospital centrally located in East Central Illinois' Coles County, and is the recipient of the 2011 Illinois Performance Excellence Gold Award for Achievement of Excellence, the highest performance honors in the state.
Sarah Bush Lincoln is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. The Health Center provides a full range of acute care services to residents of Coles County and the surrounding six counties. Home health services extend to the surroundings 19 counties in East Central and Southern Illinois. Active and consulting medical staffs include approximately 145 providers representing 28 specialties.
Some of the services provided by the Health Center include: a Regional Cancer Center, an Outpatient Surgery Center, Women & Children's Services, a Level II Perinatal Unit, an Adult Care Unit, Behavioral Health Services, a Sleep Disorders Center, Radiology and Imaging Services, Cardiac Catheterization and Rehabilitation, and Laboratory. Outreach services include a durable medical company (In Home Medical), a Reference Laboratory, Lincolnland Home Health and Hospice, and Lifeline.
Employing about 2400 area residents, the Health Center promotes a culture of excellence through continuing personal and professional growth.
** Sarah Bush Lincoln (SBL) earned the highest performance honors from Illinois Performance Excellence, the 2011 Gold Award for Achievement of Excellence.
SBL voluntarily submitted a 50-page application to the Lincoln Award program in the spring 2011 (now known as Illinois Performance Excellence, ILPEx). It applies the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program criteria to evaluating the performance of an organization.
** For the fifth time, Sarah Bush Lincoln has been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals, according to the results of the 2012 Most Wired Survey in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.
