The Ultrasonographer-Echo/Vascular Tech performs a variety of specialized technical tasks utilizing high frequency ultrasound waves to assist with the detection of anatomical abnormalities. Core Job Responsibilities Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves and demonstrate proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices. Perform vascular ultrasound procedures including 2D and color Doppler imaging and procedures as required maintaining patient records and documentation. Positively responds and implements change when needed and has good decision making skills. Assists with quality control and maintenance of all equipment in the area Properly utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, cleaning systems, warmers, scanners, printers, and PACS workstations Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the cardiologist/radiologist. Evaluate quality of exams. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated and discuss with physician. The Nurse Navigator is a patient care manager responsible for overseeing the care coordination provided to patients transitioning from a hospital/rehab facility to home.  Acts as a liaison between the physician, professional health care staff and other parties involved. Participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health care services needed to prevent a hospital readmission. Responsible for linking patients with financial resources, educational materials, transportation services, and other community hospital and community based resources. Identifies and closes open quality measures to help meet annual CMS quality benchmarks. Participates in multidisciplinary conferences and acts as a patient       advocate working with the care team in communicating and solving patient issues. Must be flexible and adapt to changes in the work environment; change the approach or method to best fit the situation; be able to cope with delay or unexpected events. 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29303 Endoscopy · Spartanburg Medical Center Per Diem · Days · 8am-4:30pm 1.     Requirements for RN PRN Nursing Department Associates a.      Currently licensed in the State of South Carolina and/or have appropriate    license/certification for the department in which they work. b.     At least 1 years' experience. c.      Demonstrated competency required by position. d.     Annual Requirements will be completed as required to complete facility and departmental annual and ongoing competencies e.      PRN associates may have flexibility, working with their Manager, in preparing their scheduled hours to work.  Working schedules shall be arranged according to unit need and based on the associate's availability.  The PRN associate will work with their Manager on a four to six (4-6) weeks calendar of availability.  Once the shifts are confirmed, the shifts shall be considered as pre-scheduled and absences are treated as such.  PRN associates may be requested to work additional hours as the need arises.
