Guthrie County Hospital has a part-time clinical staff pharmacist position available.  This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy.    The clinical staff pharmacist provides the following drug distribution and clinical pharmacy services: Staff pharmacy and take call every third weekend, and take call two nights / week Supervise drug dispensing / distribution activities performed by pharmacy technicians Serve as a preceptor for Drake University introductory (P3) and advanced (P4) pharmacy practice experience students Obtain pre-operative and admission medication histories from patients and/or their caregivers Perform medication reconciliation at admission and discharge Provide medication education to inpatients and/or their caregivers during hospitalization and at discharge, as well as to cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation outpatients Participate in collaborative drug therapy management protocols including, but not limited to, antimicrobial dosing and ordering home medications at admission Assist with pharmacy & therapeutics (P&T) committee functions including contributing to the development and review of drug protocols, order sets, and formulary policies Compound low- and medium-risk parenteral products Assist with quality improvement projects for the pharmacy department
