Responsible for cooking, baking, and preparing foods as directed, and in accordance with therapeutic diet principles. Responsible for preparing cold prep items, salads, and desserts, as well as cooking meals for patients and visitors. May include catering. Maintains the cleanliness and sanitization of all pots, pans, utensils and equipment parts in a timely manner. In addition, this position is responsible for putting away deliveries of food and stock items in a timely manner. Performs essential duties to prepare foods for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Reports to Dietary Manager. Non-exempt position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare all food items strictly adhering to UMH recipes and designated production quantities as directed. Calculate measurements in recipes to increase or decrease servings.
